Varsity Head Coach

Sam Rose

Sam Rose enters his second season as Head Coach of the Woodstock Wolverines Varsity Boys Lacrosse program after a successful first year leading the team. In his debut season as head coach, Rose guided the Wolverines to a Sweet 16 appearance in the Georgia High School Association state playoffs, helping continue the growth and competitiveness of the program.


A graduate of Pope High School, Coach Rose played goalie during his high school lacrosse career and has remained deeply connected to the sport ever since. With more than 16 years of coaching experience, he has built a reputation for developing student-athletes both on and off the field.


In addition to coaching, Rose is an educator at Woodstock High School, where he is committed to mentoring students in the classroom and through athletics. His coaching philosophy is built on the cornerstones of integrity, hard work, and striving for excellence in all endeavors. Coach Rose emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and character development while fostering a competitive and disciplined culture within the Wolverines program.

Zach Rose

Zach Rose brings a strong defensive mindset, extensive goalie experience, and a lifelong passion for the game to the Woodstock Wolverines coaching staff.


A graduate of Pope High School, Coach Rose played goalie alongside his brother, Head Coach Sam Rose, continuing a strong family tradition in the sport. He also played collegiate lacrosse at the University of Tennessee, where he further developed his understanding of defensive play and game strategy.


Coach Rose has extensive experience coaching and mentoring goalies, bringing a detailed and position-specific approach to player development. His background as a defensive-minded player gives him strong insight into building effective defensive units.


He is committed to helping Woodstock compete at a high level while developing disciplined, confident, and accountable student-athletes.

Varsity Assistant Coach

Zack Powers

Zack Powers is an Assistant Coach for the Woodstock Wolverines Varsity Boys Lacrosse program, where he focuses on offensive development, skill building, and improving game IQ.


He brings over five years of coaching experience, including time with 3D Georgia, where he worked with competitive travel players to develop advanced offensive skills and concepts. His coaching style emphasizes fundamentals, spacing, decision-making, and confidence with the ball.


A former attackman at both the high school and collegiate levels, Coach Powers was a high-scoring player and holds the Pope High School scoring record. His playing background gives him a strong understanding of offensive execution and attacking strategy.


Coach Powers is passionate about helping players grow their offensive creativity and compete at a high level, while contributing to the continued success of the Wolverines program.

Tanner Bruton

Tanner Bruton is an Assistant Coach for the Woodstock Wolverines Varsity Boys Lacrosse program, bringing extensive experience as both a player and coach within Georgia lacrosse.


A former player at Pope High School, Coach Bruton competed during the early growth of lacrosse in the state and later continued his playing career at Kennesaw State University at the club level. He has been closely involved in the development of the sport throughout Georgia.


Bruton has over 12 years of coaching experience at Pope High School, along with additional work developing players in local recreational leagues. He is known for teaching fundamentals, improving game awareness, and helping players reach their potential.


He is committed to building disciplined, skilled, and competitive athletes as part of the Woodstock coaching staff.

Junior Wolverines Head Coach

Bob Frost

Bob Frost serves as the Head Coach of the Junior Wolverines Youth Program, leading the foundation of Woodstock Boys Lacrosse for athletes in 3rd through 8th grade across both elementary and middle school levels. His leadership is central to developing the next generation of Wolverines and building a strong pipeline into the high school program.


Coach Frost played high school lacrosse with Atlanta Youth Lacrosse, recognized as one of Georgia’s earliest boys’ lacrosse programs, and later continued his playing career at Appalachian State University at the club level. His long-standing connection to the game gives him a deep appreciation for its growth and tradition in the state.


Since 2015, Frost has been actively coaching youth lacrosse, dedicating himself to teaching the fundamentals of the sport while helping young athletes develop confidence, discipline, and a love for the game. His coaching philosophy emphasizes knowing, loving, and honoring lacrosse in all aspects of play and preparation.


Above all, Coach Frost is focused on helping young men believe in themselves, trust their teammates, and understand the value of hard work. His impact on the youth program lays the foundation for the continued success and culture of Woodstock Lacrosse.

Junior Wolverines Head Coach

Ethan Frost

Ethan Frost is a Head Coach in the Junior Wolverines Youth Program and a proud alumnus of Woodstock Boys Lacrosse, continuing a strong family tradition within the program. He brings both playing experience and coaching knowledge to his role, helping guide the next generation of Wolverines.


Coach Frost played nine years in the Woodstock program, becoming a Varsity starter and recording the highest shooting percentage in program history. His experience as a player shaped his understanding of the game and the standards required to compete at a high level.


With three years of coaching experience, including time with the Dirty Birds Lacrosse Club, Frost focuses on developing fundamentals, competitiveness, and team culture. His coaching emphasizes hard work, dedication, team bonding, and grit.


Above all, Coach Frost is committed to strengthening the program and helping young athletes grow on and off the field through confidence, effort, and teamwork.

Junior Wolverines Assistant Coach

Henry Kay

Henry Kay is an Assistant Coach for the Junior Wolverines Youth Program, where he focuses on goaltending and defensive development. In his first season with the program, he has quickly become a valuable part of the staff through his experience, teaching ability, and passion for the game.


Coach Kay recently moved to Woodstock from Alabama and played high school lacrosse at McCallie School in Chattanooga, where he earned All-State honors as a goalie. His playing background gives him strong insight into defensive play and the demands of the position.


A dedicated volunteer, Kay gives his time to the program out of a genuine love for lacrosse and a desire to help young athletes grow. He is married with two children and is deeply invested in building confidence, skills, and lacrosse IQ in the players he coaches.
